Editorial policy
Rural Arts Journal aims to be specific, fair and clear about what it knows. We check factual statements against suitable material, separate interpretation from fact and revise wording when it overstates what the evidence supports.
Accuracy and context
We check names, descriptions and factual claims before publication, using sources appropriate to the subject. A practical suggestion is not a guarantee, and an account of one setting should not be presented as true of every rural place. When a point is uncertain or depends on context, we say so rather than disguising uncertainty as confidence.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions remain separate from commercial relationships. Any paid, sponsored or partner material is clearly identified as such where it appears, and its status is not hidden in editorial wording. A partnership does not promise favourable coverage or control over unrelated articles.
Corrections and illustrations
Readers can report possible errors through the Contact page. We review specific, actionable corrections and update material when warranted; where a change needs explanation, we make that clear in the article. Some illustrations may be AI-generated. We identify them where used and do not present them as documentary photographs.
Art changes with the place it inhabits
A field, a borrowed room and a village hall are not interchangeable backdrops. We look at what each makes possible, and what it asks of the work.
